The Bureau of Interdimensional Activity
The Bureau (or the BIA if you prefer) is located at 35 Thomas Street, Lower Manhattan, New York City. It's a windowless building, somehow larger on the inside than it looks on the outside, most of which is inaccessable by the characters. Characters can try to get beyond the few spaces they are allowed, but they will not be able to due to the magical/advanced technology keeping characters out.

Employment with The Bureau
Characters are allowed to gain employment with The Bureau. They must be in the game at least a month. The following options are available for the characters. If you want your character to be employed by The Bureau, fill out the form below and comment to this post.
EMPLOYMENT FORM
Department of Earth Security
Head of Department Ms. Bryant
The Department of Earth Security handles any sort of dangerous, destructive dimensional abnormalities. If a monster or hoard of monsters of some kind crosses into our reality, a military invasion of some kind, or any other physical threat against the Earth, the Department of Earth Security is deployed to address the issue.
They usually have the weaponry and defenses to tackle the problem. Sometimes it might take them a few days to fully address the threat, but they usually find a way to defeat dangerous foes in the end.
This line of work is dangerous, and The Bureau is always looking for willing soldiers (who will ostensibly keep The Bureau's secrets.)
This department is located on the third level of The Bureau building.
Department of Medical Services
Head of Department Ms. Garcia
The Department of Medical Services addresses any medical threat to the Earth. Viral, bacterial threats, or even just people needing medical attention after an attack from an invading interdimensional army. They have amazing advancements in medical technology. It's almost as if they can bring people back from the dead sometimes (but really, people are just mostly dead...) They also handle the mental health needs of The Bureau workers who have seen some things, but can't have their memories erased because they are too valuable to the opperation of The Bureau.
If your character has medical experience (physical or mental health), or wants to gain medical experience, The Bureau could use their help.
This department is located on the very first level of The Bureau building.
Department of Inter-Dimensional Containment
Head of Department Mr. Martin
The Department of Dimensional Containment has one of the most important tasks - keeping the majority of Earth blissfully unaware of all the infinate number of universes spilling over into ours. When disaster happens, while the Security Department handles the threat, the Containment department fixes everything. With their tech and magic they rebuild demolished buildings and roads and bridges. They take care of the memories of the average Earth citizen so that no one remembers what happened.
They are the team that shows up when your character has their first Memory Event - Mr. Martin is the NPC that explains to you how you are now a part of this pan-dimensional mess.
Maybe your character wants to join this department so they can help fellow characters cope with starting to dream?
This department is located in the subfloors of The Bureau building.
Department of Public Relations
Head of Department Ms. Becker
The Department of Public Relations controls what information the public receives about the bleed-over events from the other universes. Sometimes, erasing everyone's memory isn't the most efficient. Sometimes, you just have to alter the memories of enough people in the right positions behind the microphone or behind the podium or the right experts in the right fields. And then you can spin the right story to explain what happened.
This department also controls what information certain government leaders receive - small hint: they don't let many government officials know very much.
Maybe you character wants to help keep this planet as peaceful as possible by keeping the public from freaking out about all this interdimensional activity.
This department is located on the second floor of The Bureau building.
Character Name: Elliott Naeuri Department: Department of Medical Services Qualifications: I've always enjoyed helping people, and I've recently gained some sort of healing ability. I think it would be a waste to not be able to use it to help people that might need it because I'm one of the Different, so it's my hope that you will consider my application. I have an open schedule and a willingness to learn anything else I may need to be of service.
The Bureau extends the following job offer to your character
⇀ Job Title: Student Extern – Medical Department
⇀ Hours: 10 hrs/week, shifts are a minimum of 3 hours, no more than 3 shifts per week. Schedule is flexible and can be set by your character each week between the hours of 8am - 9pm
⇀ Pay: $12.50/hour
⇀ Duties: Elliott will have some variation of the following duties each shift:
Clerical: • Digitizing old records • Data entry • Filing • Diagnostic notation (working directly with doctors, taking notes for doctors in non-emergency exams - Elliott will work with one doctor per shift)
Cashier (receiving payment for services rendered)
Inventory: • Restock non-prescription medical supplies • Restock closets
Answer telephones: • Switchboard/Redirect calls to the right medical department
Patient deliveries: • Flowers/cards • Food (no meds)
Janitorial: • Change linens • Non-biohazard cleaning (no cleaning up blood, vomit, other bodily fluids. This will be sweeping/general mopping/cleaning-disinfecting surfaces)
For the time being, because of Elliott's age, his duties will generally be light and fitting for a novice in the medical field. And because of his position he will not meet the Head of the Department. Elliott’s experience will encompass mundane medical encounters – nothing fishy to see on his shifts. (However, all of this may change at a future date (including any suspicious activity) so stay tuned ;) )
We apologize for taking so long to respond! SInce Elliott's medical talents are magic-based, The Bureau has been keeping his duties somewhat restricted. Their healthcare facilities are professional-grade, and some amount of modern medical training is needed for increased responsibility. Now that he is of age, Ms. Garcia would suggest that Elliott enroll in a program for either EMT training or nursing, at a local school or community college. This would give him the opportunity to eventually become part of the crisis response team during events like the dimensional convergence in the fall of 2020. In addition to this, Ms. Garcia would also mention that one of his fellow Different, Dr. Whitly, could be contacted for mentoring purposes if Elliott so desires.
